WHAT IS A POWER OF ATTORNEY (‘P.O.A’)?
1. A P.O.A is a Legal Document that allows you (you are called the ‘Donor’) to legally authorise and empower another person to act for you for specific matters. You are called the ‘Donor’ as you are legally granting another person the power to do specific tasks on your behalf.
2. The person appointed by you (called the ‘Donee’) has the legal power to do and perform the specific matters stated in the P.O.A
3. For example, if you are buying or selling or renting out a property and would like to entrust someone else to act on your behalf, you can sign a Power of Attorney (P.O.A).
